Classical Music Department

Classical Music Department (CMD) is a department for classical music education for children aged 7 to 14, offering the following sections:

  • Solo Singing Section

  • Piano Section

  • Guitar Section

  • Violin Section

  • Cello Section

  • Flute Section

In this department, regardless of the section, students attend six years of instrument lessons, as well as solfeggio and music theory classes. These are structured into levels, from the first to the sixth, following a clearly defined syllabi.

Each level lasts one school year, divided into three semesters. At the end of each level, students take exams in all subjects (instrument, solfeggio and music theory) before an expert panel. After passing each level, students receive a certificate for that level. Upon completion of all six levels, they are awarded a diploma in music education. Students who enroll in one of the sections at age seven and wish to continue their education in a secondary music school after completing the sixth level can attend CMD for an additional two years as alumni. During these two years, they are prepared for admission to secondary music school.

Students who complete all six levels of the CMD department are eligible to enroll in a secondary music school in the Republic of Srpska or the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the same department they attended at our school, provided they pass the entrance exam for secondary school admission. The entrance exam for secondary music school enrollment is a legal requirement and applies to all students who have completed six years of elementary music education in either public or private music schools in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Lessons are conducted, in agreement with the teachers, in Serbian/Croatian/Bosnian or English.
