Azur Kasapović
Guitar teacher
Azur Kasapović, born in 1998, is a composition graduate student at the Department of Composition of the Music Academy in Sarajevo, under the mentorship of Professor Ališer Sijarić. During his studies, he honed his skills through numerous masterclasses organized by Sonemus, where he had the opportunity to collaborate with renowned composers such as Dina Rešidbegović, Vinko Globokar, Marko Nikodijević, Uroš Pompe, Uroš Rojko, Richard Barrett, and Antonie Fachard. His career encompasses notable achievements in classical and contemporary music, where he stands out not only as a talented composer but also as a performer. His works have been performed at various festivals and concerts, including the Sonemus Festival, May Music Festivities, and the Creative Workshop "Share Knowledge." Since 2019, Azur has been working as a guitar teacher at BASICSchool, where he has been actively involved in organizing concerts and developing interactive content for the school's eSystem.
Deni Mešić
Acting teacher
Deni Mešić is a Bosnian and Serbian actor born in Prijepolje in 1994. He has been involved in acting since elementary school, and after high school, he moved to Sarajevo, where he graduated from the Academy of Performing Arts in 2017. Besides acting, he is also involved in directing and won the award for the most promising young director for the play "Bird Concert." He has appeared on television in series such as "Frust," "Konak kod Hilmije," "Na rubu pameti," "Igra sudbine," and "Što se bore misli moje." On the theater stage, his performance in the play "Fistik" stands out. He actively participates in drama activism through the association Altteatar.
Emilija Novaković
Assistant for ballet and other dances
Emilija Novaković was born in 2003 and is currently a second-year student at the Academy of Performing Arts in Sarajevo, majoring in production and management. She has been practicing ballet since she was ten years old and previously attended rhythmic gymnastics classes. She studied ballet for eight years at BASICSchool and participated in numerous musicals and plays such as "The Lion King," "Whisper of the Woods," and "Frozen." Emilija is currently a member of the ballet studio "Aurora." Notable performances include those in front of the National Theatre Sarajevo as part of the project Culture on the Streets and the ballet and flamenco dancer Danijela Knežević's performance "Metamorphosis," produced by the National Theatre Sarajevo.
Marija Ivančević-Stipić
Author and leader of preschool programs
Marija Ivančević-Stipić, born in 1987 in Prozor, is a graduate music theorist and pedagogue. She graduated from the Music Academy in Sarajevo in 2013 and has since been actively dedicated to music education, especially working with young children. She has initiated numerous projects, including "Little Music Workshop" and "Music Garden," aimed at bringing music closer to children. She volunteered with the association "Emmaus," composed spiritual chansons awarded at international festivals, and led choirs. She attended the renowned seminar "Estill Voice International" with Professor Anne Marie Speed, completing two advanced levels of the course. She also attended seminars on the "Application of Orff Schulwerk Elements in Music Education and Music Therapy" and the "Development of Intelligence Through Play - NTC Learning System Level 1." She participated in the VI Scientific-Professional Conference "Child in the World of Music." She has been involved in numerous projects, including musicals and ballet performances. Since 2015, she has been leading the "Music Workshop" at BASICSchool, a specially designed program for preschool children, and has been continuously developing new musical activities for youngsters. Later, within BASICSchool, she launched the "Music Playground" program aimed at babies and children under three years old. From 2019 to 2022, she served as the internal manager at BASICSchool.
Marko Jovančić
Performing arts teacher
Marko Jovančić, born in 1996, completed secondary music school in East Sarajevo, specializing in music theory and solo singing, and later enrolled in AV directing studies at the Academy of Performing Arts in Sarajevo. From 2013 to 2023, he was employed at Radio Television of Bosnia and Herzegovina, where he participated in the production of various shows, special programs, and documentaries. As a co-founder of the Music Atelier in Bosnia and Herzegovina (now: Institute for Innovative Arts), he worked on four of the most successful children's musicals in Bosnia and Herzegovina: "The Lion King," "Frozen," "Whisper of the Woods," and "Disney's Beauty and the Beast JR," as well as the television New Year's format "New Year's Basics Show." Since 2016, he has worked as a photographer and videographer for Bonjour.ba lifestyle magazine, participating in projects such as the "Feel Good T-shirt" and photographing for brands like Pantene, Kerastase, and Somersby. He has been a Digital Imaging Technician and photographer on films and series, including "Men Don't Cry," "Tabija," and "The Abyss," and edited the award-winning Bosnian film "Mother's Gold." Since 2023, he has worked as a multimedia content designer for the IT company ZIRA and serves as the director of the advertising and propaganda agency "Artefaktorium," working with brands like Lidl, dm drogerie markt, and the Sarajevo National Theatre.
Nina Vasić
Violin teacher
Nina Vasić was born in 2000 in Šabac, where she began her music education, specializing in violin. She completed secondary music school as the top student of her generation and then enrolled at the Music Academy of the University of East Sarajevo, where she graduated in 2023 with a GPA of 9.79. She is currently pursuing a master's degree at the same academy, having completed all exams and awaiting the defense of her master's thesis. She has teaching experience as a violin instructor, working in two music schools. During her education, she won numerous awards in solo violin and chamber music competitions.
Dajana Zilić
Ballet and other dances teacher
Dajana Zilić, a performer with the Sarajevo National Theatre Ballet, has had a distinguished career collaborating with renowned international choreographers and pedagogues. She has been a long-time choreographer at children's festivals and significant events, including "Sarajevo Winter," "Like in the Old Days Before Christmas," and "Lino Fest." Her choreographic works include the "New Year's Basics Show" and the musical "Disney's Beauty and the Beast JR" for BASICSchool, the musical "Cabaret" in collaboration with the BellArte association, as well as stage movement in the operas "The Magic Flute," "Mamma Mia," "Don Carlo," and "Tosca." She won the award for best stage performance and choreography at the 29th International Festival of Children's Song "Đurđevdanski Festival" for the song "Children of the Universe," performed by BASICSchool students.
Đorđe Jovančić
Eva Čalija
Cello teacher
Eva Čalija was born in 2003 in Canada and is currently in her second year at the Music Academy in Sarajevo, studying under Prof. Dr. Belma Alić. She completed her elementary and high school music education in Sarajevo and participated in numerous competitions, winning special and first prizes at cantonal and federal competitions. She attended seminars with professors Petar Olenjuk, Dejan Božić, Dragan Đorđević, and Yevgeny Xaviereff. She has also won awards at international competitions such as "Fantast" and "Petar Konjović." Notable concerts include her performances with the Sarajevo Philharmonic, including those under the baton of maestros Riccardo Muti and Zubin Mehta.
Marija Mastilo
Piano teacher
Marija Mastilo completed her elementary and secondary music education in Foča and East Ilidža, then earned her bachelor's and master's degrees in piano at the Music Academy in East Sarajevo, graduating as the best student of the Academy and the student with the highest GPA at the University of East Sarajevo. During her education, she participated in numerous national and international competitions, winning numerous awards, including laureates at several festivals. She refined her skills at masterclasses with renowned artists and professors such as Aleksandar Serdar (Serbia), Hinko Haas (Slovenia), Arnulf von Arnim (Germany), Elena Tarasova (Russia), Biljana Jašić-Radovanović (Bosnia and Herzegovina), and Marija Pilipović (Bosnia and Herzegovina). She has performed throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina as a soloist, member of chamber ensembles, and accompanist. Since 2018, she has been working as a piano teacher and accompanist, with her students achieving remarkable results at competitions. She has received numerous national and international awards for her outstanding academic achievements.
Mina Petrović
Singing teacher
Mina Petrović was born in 2000 in Šabac, where she completed her elementary and secondary music education, majoring in violin, solo singing, and music theory. She studied solo singing at the Music Academy of the University of East Sarajevo, graduating in 2023. During her studies, she performed as a soloist with the academy's choir and orchestra, performing Vivaldi's "Gloria" and giving a series of concerts titled "An Evening of Baroque Music" in cities across Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia. She performed as a soloist in the Church of St. Mary of the Alie in Izola and at the Armed Forces Home in Sarajevo. As a member of VIS Oskar Danon, she promoted Sephardic music and performed at the celebration of 120 years of the Ashkenazi Synagogue in Sarajevo. In May 2023, she was a soloist in the performance of F. Liszt's "Via Crucis" at the Mariatrost Basilica in Graz. Since her third year of studies, she has been teaching solo singing and conducting a choir at BASICSchool.
Nikola Đurić
Guitar teacher
Nikola Đurić is an experienced teacher passionate about creating a positive and engaging learning environment. He completed his secondary music education at the High School Center "East Ilidža." He is currently studying guitar at the University of East Sarajevo and has three years of experience working in elementary music schools in Foča and East Sarajevo. During his time at BASICSchool, he developed innovative lesson plans tailored to different learning styles, resulting in improved student engagement and progress. He believes that strong relationships with colleagues, students, and parents are key to a successful educational environment.
